Overview of our October meeting 2. Legislative items of interest 3. Writing Class at Barnes & Nobles ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Overview of our October meeting My apologies to everyone for getting this out late. It's been an interesting October in our house and I'm hoping November brings a bit more peace and quiet. Our October meeting had a lively discussion about how to handle homeschooling and scheduling. We also discussed picking curriculum and handling pre-driving high school student needs for activities even when the parents may be working. Our support group meets at Barnes and Nobles on South Willow St. Manchester on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30pm. Our next meeting is November 15, 2009. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Legislative items of interest to homeschoolers The issue of homeschooling in New Hampshire has not left the halls of Concord. Jodie Lucci sent out a good summary of the current homeschooling issues that are being discussed at the state legislature. If you are politically inclined I encourage everyone to contact their legislator and voice your opinion on the topic. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 3. Writing Group In honor of the National Novel Writing Month (Nanowrimo) Barnes & Nobles will be hosting writing workshop activities to help you write your novel or novella for students in grades 5 to 7. We'll also meet on the 9, 16 and 30. We'll work on Strong Beginnings on this, our first night. RSVP in children's dept. WHEN: Monday November 02, 2009 6:00 PM WHERE: Manchester Barnes & Noble 1741 South Willow Street, Manchester, NH 03103, 603-668-5557 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
