Overview of our January meeting\par This month we discussed the recent legislation items on homeschooling. We reviewed a jr high science curriculum, Aristotle Leads the Way by Joy Hakim, and the Johns Hopkins teacher's guide and workbooks for her book.\par We look forward to seeing everyone next month when we'll be talking about history curriculum, please bring some to share if you have a favorite! We'll also be talking about end of year evaluations and how to start preparing now for a portfolio review.\par Our support group meets at Barnes and Nobles on South Willow St. Manchester on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30pm. \par Our next meeting is February 21, 2010. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Activities Drama Classes for Homeschooled Youth\par Lights Up Drama has classes for homeschoolers coming this spring.\par The instructor will be Roberta Woolfson. The classes run for 12 weeks.\par Each class costs $170.\par Contact Roberta Woolfson 603-672-7815\par \par Location: Milford Town Hall 3rd floor Auditorium Milford, NH\par Date/Time: Thursdays 3:30pm - 5pm Feb 18 to May 13\par Class: Acting Techniques for Homeschoolers\par Ages: 8 - 15\par Topic: This class focuses on acting technique, physical and vocal skills, script interpretation, character analysis, and stage craft.\par Participants will work on scenes and monologues and a one-act play, which will develop into a fun show for family and friends.\par \par Location: Lawrence Barn, Hollis, NH\par Date/Time: Mondays 2 - 3:30pm March 1 - June 7th\par Class: Dramatic Storytelling for Homeschoolers\par Agest: 8 - 15\par Topic: Dramatic Storytelling is a creative, fun, and expressive talent to develop in young people. They will take the stories into libraries and schools and produce a show for parents and friends.\par \par *********************\par \par Teen Laser Tag Night\par \par Brenda at oceanviewartist@aol.com is putting together another laser tag fun night for teens. Legislative items of interest to homeschoolers\par \par First and foremost, HB368 was voted ITL by the House of Representatives. An excellent victory for homeschoolers in the state. Now that this battle is behind us, there are more looming on the horizon. Here are some other legislative issues you may want to contact your representative about.\par
